REMINDER... Church Laws for Fasting and Abstinence
You are reminded of the Church laws for fasting and abstaining during Lent, which began on February 14th. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting. Catholics between the ages of 18-59 are permitted one full meal and two lesser meals per day (which together should not equal one full meal), with no eating between meals. Ash Wednesday and all Friday’s during Lent are days of abstinence. Catholic who are 14 years of older should abstain from meat entirely. Soups and gravies made from meat are permitted.
Plenary Indulgence for Eucharistic Congress
The Sacred Apostolic Penitentiary of the Holy See, by mandate of our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has granted a Plenary Indulgence to all the Catholic faithful, who are not impeded by any penalty or censure and who participate at the Mass for the Eucharistic Congress.
